It's been quite a while since we did this so on Saturday, August 8, Antonio Gatto and I will be taking the music of Simon and Garfunkel out for a spin. We'll be at the lovely Narcisi Winery in Gibsonia, PA. This is a great spot to listen to music outdoors and enjoy the food and wine. We'll be there from 4:00 until 7:00. On August 14th, I'll be playing a lunchtime show in the Cranberry Municipal Park in Cranberry PA. I'll be in Rotary Garden Gazebo at 12:00. I have a few private parties coming up throughout the summer. Please keep me in mind if you're looking for music for a party or if you'd be interested in hosting a house concert.

Some years ago, I wrote a song about some grafitti I saw on a highway in Ohio. I told the story of Tracy and Ray, two people who were separated by a job in California. I never really explained how they met, what Tracy was doing in California or how they got back together. Now the author, Theresa Child, has answered my questions in her new book, "Tracy Loves Ray". The story gives life to people I never thought of and turns my sketch into a beautiful picture.

Hi,

I've had the pleasure of working with Rosa Colucci on her new Christmas CD. The recording was just finished and will be released soon. The album has some wonderfully different interpretations of standard carols, etc, as well as a great original song for the title track, The Gift. Rosa will be doing some live shows to promote the CD and I'll be part of a great band backing her up. Check the calendar section for all the dates.
I have just about finished some material for a new CD myself. Those of you who know me are aware that it takes me a while to go from conception to finished product but maybe by spring....

We haven't talked lately, have we? I'm coming out of the hibernation I went into after the CLO show last year and I've posted a few dates on the calendar. Though it's a little late for resolutions, I'll try to keep the site up to date and let you know what's happening. I've been in the studio working on a new project. As usual, I have 12 or so songs in various states of completion and I'll finish them all at the same time.
So leave a note in the guestbook or write to jat@jayhitt.com. when you have a chance and we'll stay up to date. Thanks to all of you who have written to say you missed my playing and I'll see you soon.

As the show "Always, Patsy Cline" heads into the final weeks of the run, I decided I can't let the chance of playing with Patsy's band pass me by. So on September 21. we'll be doing a show at the beautiful CLO Cabaret Theatre. I don't know if we'll have an opportunity to do this more than once, so if you'd like to hear it, let me know. Going into the eighth week of the play, Always, Patsy Cline, and it's been a great experience. I haven't done musical theatre for a long time and never for a run as long as this. The people in the show are great and I'll add some photos soon. The people watching the show are great too and you'd love it. Check out www.clocabaret.com for information about times and pricing. I'll be taking some time away from the play in July and I probably will be doing a couple of dates during that time. I'll update the site and email you when I know.

A friend of mine received an email from Susan, who writes that" I bought Jay's CD, ( Show Me The Way To Your Heart) at the Harvest Fest. My parrots LOVE the bird song, "Take Me Under Your Wing". My Peach Fronted Conure snaps his beak to the music and my Black Capped Conure dances. My sister was visiting and heard me playing it for the birds. She said she found herself singing it to herself in the shower. Now that's a catchy tune!
If you see Jay, let him know birds definitely approve."

Also, my friend Kristen Short way up in Maine has a new CD out. In addition to her wonderful songs, she's included a few Jay Hitt songs on the record, including a great version of " My Little Corner of the World". I was very pleased to perform two songs with Kristen, "Love Survives" and "One Love."
